	Animal Care Team Club	Mrs. Fischer	The purpose of the Animal Care Team is to support animal shelters and to promote general awareness to the public of stray and abandoned animals. ACT educates others against animal cruelty and encourages pet adoption.


	Anime Club	Mr. Perl	Anime Club welcomes everyone! We watch anime twice a week and will have four contests throughout the year. Members are also encouraged to bring in anime that they would like to be shown during club. We currently meet in Room 938 (Mr. Perl's room) on Tuesdays and Fridays, during lunch period. 	Children's Book Guild	Ms. Blok	CBG is an organization designed to support students interested in careers involved with writing, illustrating, and publishing children's books. This club will create books, join competitions, and most importantly, help students grow.

	Circle of Friends	Ms. Moscoe	The purpose of "Circle of Freinds" is to establish an environment of inclusion for young adults. In Circle of Friends, students with disabilities are supported by established groups of peers who are socially competent, offering many opportunities to form genuine freiendships that can last a lifetime. Circle of Friends builds an inclusive campus climate that welcomes and values all students.
	CSF (California Scholastic Federation)	Mrs. Henry	CSF is a California honor society based on courses taken and grades received. Membership is renewed each semester. Students may apply for the first time in the spring of their freshman year, and each subsequent semester of high school in which they meet the qualifications. 	Cultural Films Club	Ms. Langdon	The purpose of Darfur Now is to raise money and awareness to end the genocide in darfur.
	Cycling Club	Mr. Klinger
	DECA	Mr. Mifflin	DECA, a national association of marketing education students, provides teachers and members with educational and leadership development activities to merge with education classroom instructional programs. DECA chapters attract sstudents who are interested in preparing for entrepreneurial, marketing or management careers. While DECA membership consists primarily of students in marketing programs, membership also extends to alumni and to professional in marketing education and in marketing teacher education. Working hand-in-hand with the education and business communities, DECA's goal is for its student members to develop a "career success kit" to carry into their busniess and personal lives after graduation.

	Drama Club	Mr. Whelan	The Drama Club is an organization of students dedicated to theatrical arts. The club welcomes any student interested in joining. Students explore opportunities to perform, build sets, run props, manage lighting and sound, and participate in theater production promotions. The Drama Club sponsors two main stage plays and one Backstage Carbaret Variety Show each school year. Each month studetns also gather for a social activities to create friendships and lasting bonds.

	Equestrian Club	Ms. Valentine	The equestrian Teams purpose is to compete as a member of the Interscholastic Equestrian League of Los Angeles; which aims to: support and develope athletes for regional and national competition in equestrian sports; to encourage a knowledge of horsemanship, to encourage teamwork in fair and friendly competition; to encourage the development of superior riding skills in young riders' and to take any and all actions that may be considered appropriate to accomplish the foregoing.

	Fencing Club	Mr. Whelan	The Fencing Club is a group of enthusiastic individuals who gather once a week to engage in the fine art of fighting with swords. They spend their time learning both defensive and offensive techniques.

	Gay-Straight Alliance	Mrs. Forbes	The purpose of the Gay-Straight Alliance is to provide a safe and healthy environment for discussions involving, but not limited too, the LGBT community, health, relationships, personal issues as well as an opportunity for bonding experiences for similar persons.

	Invisible Children of Uganda	Ms. Margrave	ICU is a student-led club at VHS whose main goals are to bring awareness and to assist physically, financially, emotionally and spiritually to those in crisis in Northern Uganda, Africa where hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced and terrorized by the Lord's Resistance Army for more than 20 years. 	National Art Honor Society	Ms. Pharis	National Arts Honor Society's purpose is to bring students together interested in all forms of art. The club will participate in street painting, drawing and will volunteer to help benefit the community.

	NHS (National Honor Society)	Mrs. Henry	NHS is a National honor society in which membership is based on an application that evaluates grades, cum. gpa, community involvement and character. Membership is granted one time and as long as the student remains in good standing by maintaining grades and service obligations they are recognized as a member for all of HS. 	Pathfinders Christian Club	Mr. McKee	The Pathfinders Christian Club purpose is to provide a place for Christians to meet and reach out to others. A time of bible study and worship.



	Reaching Out Club	Ms. McKee	The purpose of this club is to help those less fortunate than us both locally and throughout the world. We offer support to victims of disasters and accidents by raising money and other necessities for them, and by letting them know that they aren' forgotten. Our main goal is to make difference in people's lives.

	Science Olympiad	Mrs. Peterson	The Purpose of this club is to apply scientific and mathematical knowledge to various fun and challenging tasks that go across the full science spectrum. To compete against other schools in various events from Herpetology to Ecology and Cell Biology. To promote science and learning and to mentor Junior High and Elementary school teams, as well as volunteer at environmental and science related community events.
